*AVAILABLE POSITION: * The Joint Transportation Committee (JTC) of the Washington State Legislature is hiring a permanent Policy Analyst. This position will start approximately March 16, 2024.
About the Joint Transportation Committee:
The Joint Transportation Committee (JTC) is a non-partisan, bicameral legislative branch agency governed by an executive committee consisting of the chairs and ranking members of the House and Senate Transportation Committees. The JTC conducts and oversees research and studies of transportation issues to make information available to policymakers. Staff of the JTC are non-partisan.
In addition to undertaking studies, the JTC organizes transportation related tours for legislators and staff and coordinates the biennial update of the Transportation Resource Manual.{rel="nofollow"} The JTC holds four to six meetings during legislative interim periods to provide reports on JTC studies and other transportation related topics.

Position Profile
The JTC seeks an analytical, collaborative, and detail-oriented policy analyst. The policy analyst will work closely with other JTC staff to conduct and oversee studies, coordinate the bi-annual update of the Transportation Resource Manual, and plan and coordinate a two-to-three-day transportation related bus tour in the early fall for legislators and staff.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting the legislative process by providing high quality, objective, nonpartisan service to the members of the Washington State Legislature. Position Responsibilities
The primary duties of the Policy Analyst are:
Oversee and coordinate the update of the Transportation Resource ManualPlan and coordinate a two-to-three-day transportation related bus tour in the early fall for legislators and staffAssist other JTC staff in conducting and overseeing studies assigned by the legislature including participation in the preparation of Requests for Proposals, managing consultant contracts, supporting study work groups, coordinating study projects, making oral presentations and writing study summaries and reports. It is anticipated that the Policy Analyst will serve as the JTC staff lead on studies after they gain sufficient experience assisting other JTC staff.* *Critical Skills and Abilities
