Shifts cover a 24-hour period, 365 days a year including holidays.•University Police Officers’ work often involves walking, running, pursuing fleeing subjects on foot, climbing stairs, and physically restraining and handcuffing persons who may be resisting or combative.•Possession of a valid and insurable Montana driver’s license•Maintain annual firearms and CEW/Taser qualification•Maintain CPR, First Aid, Narcan, and AED certificationPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to pass a D.O.T. physical, drug screen, psychological testing for fitness for duty as a police officer, and have other physical characteristics (vision, hearing, etc…) commensurate with the ability to perform the job of a police officer.Education Required: High School Diploma or GEDEducation Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or other relevant field of studyExperience Preferred: Successfully complete Montana Law Enforcement Academy Basic Police Officer Training or EQ Challenge and has obtained Montana Public Safety Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certification as a Peace Officer.Montana State University Billings is committed to providing a working and learning environment free from discrimination.
