Position Summary: The Plant Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the process quality during assembly of axles drives assigned by the Local Quality Manager.
What you can look forward to as a Plant Quality Engineer:
Perform internal quality investigations on axle drive assembly lines.
Plan, test, train, and supervise the implementation of Preventive Quality Assurance in the axle drive assembly lines in order to establish and verify capable and stable production processes.
Maintain Quality Data Systems in the single assembly stations as well as in the Central Quality Database.
Perform Internal Process Audits in axle drive assembly lines or as required to coordinate product audits in assembly lines (Smart LPA).
Manage 8D investigations or similar Corrective Action Process derived from Product and Process Audits, and from internal and external quality investigations.
Customer contact concerning quality topics; this includes completion, submission & approval of customer PPAP’s as well as ensuring EA adheres to customer-specific requirements.
Investigate and resolve issues associated with non-conforming parts.
Monitor and improve quality performance of axle drive assembly lines including regular gauge R&R, calibration and repeatability checks of the stations.
Your profile as a Plant Quality Engineer:
Bachelor’s In Engineering.
3-4 years of experience (internship/co-op included).
Basic English language competency required.
Strong computer skills, good written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience with APQP process, SPC, Atlas Copco Software, Noise Test Software (e.g. Reilhofer, RedAnt), Axalant, and/or Minitab.
5S experience.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Tools (Six Sigma) SPC, DoE etc.
2+ years manufacturing experience in automotive assembly.
Audit experience.
