Position Summary
Morehouse School of Medicine is seeking a Physician Assistant. The Physician Assistant will serve under the direction of a supervising Physician to provide medical services to patients; including but not limited to establishing medical diagnosis; ordering and evaluating diagnostic tests; managing follow up care; and does other related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Physician Assistant:
• Current graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant Program with certification
• Current American Heart Association ( AHA ) Basic Life Support ( BLS ) certification is required

Job Duties
Description of Job Duty
Inpatient Duties:
Take call and receive sign out from Attending Physician/Hospitalist, Resident, APP covering service and ensure all necessary communication loops are closed. If a medical resident is participating on service, communicate specifically with resident physicians on a daily basis regarding assignment of daily duties, including but not limited to note writing, order writing, procedures, patient transfer, communication with consultants, and dictating of discharge summaries. All discharge summaries are to be performed on the day of discharge. At end of shift ensure appropriate hand off.
Perform daily assessment and examinations on patients admitted to the service and document accordingly. Communicate abnormal findings as appropriate to attending in a timely fashion.
Only perform procedures within scope of practice and as granted by credentialing within the medical staff office.
Communicate with referring physicians, teams and Grady consulting services regarding patients’ current status.
Clinic Duties:
Evaluate patients scheduled in clinic, perform history and physical examination, order indicated tests as appropriate and discuss results and formulate treatment plan under the supervision physician.
Order and interpret studies required to complete evaluation process.
Participate in multidisciplinary conferences as appropriate for patient care.

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
