POSITION SUMMARYThe Certified Physical Therapy Assistant [PTA] is a professional qualified to provide physicaltherapy treatment under the supervision of a Registered and Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT) topatients in the home as prescribed by the attending physician.
QUALIFICATIONS¦ Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the AmericanPhysical Therapy Association¦ Certified as a physical therapy assistant with an indirect license in the Commonwealth ofPennsylvania¦ Has performed the minimum of2,000 hours of physical-therapy related acts which havebeen signed off by a supervising LPT.¦ The individual must have worked three of the five previous five years in therapy withnotarization of application and copy of their resume.¦ Reliable, independent means of transportation to make home visits. Drivers must have avalid driver's license and drive a car with insurance limits as established by the state.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITESClinical SkillsA. Makes home visits to patients in accordance with the physician's plan of careB. Implements the therapy program established by the LPT, providing services to preventdisability, relieve pain, restoring function and independence to achieve the patient's full potential following disease or injury
C. Assists in teaching patients and in planning discharge from physical therapy services
**Our Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) will cover our Pittsburgh Service areas (Beechview, Baldsin, Brookline, Mt. Washington, Mt. Oliver, Carnegie, Greentree). You make your schedule! Mostly Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Minimum of 7 patients a day. No holidays or weekends!
