  Job Summary and Qualifications

  The Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for accurately performing all advanced and basic pharmacy technician functions in a timely manner. In addition, they may be responsible for performing duties with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) and other specialized duties as assigned be the pharmacy management team.

  In this role you will:

  Demonstrate relevant theoretical knowledge.

  Apply known solutions to a variety of predictable problems.

  Apply and performs processes that require a range of well-developed skills where some discretion and judgment is required.

  Interpret available information using discretion and judgment.

  Take responsibility for own outputs in work and learning.

  Maintain medication inventory, storage, and security as per regulatory requirements throughout the organization.

  Accurately prepares and maintains required documentation logs, work records, and safety checks.

  Interact in person and by phone with hospital personnel.

  Perform basic billing functions.

  Accurately performs required calculations.

  Accurately and safely compounds and labels medications and parenteral admixtures.

  Accurately packages and prepares medications for dispensing as assigned.

  Accurately transports medications and other pharmacy supplies in a timely manner to appropriate areas.

  Job Requirements:

  · High School diploma or equivalent required

  · 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience is preferred

  · IV Certification preferred

  ·Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Tech (CPhT), or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

  State License Pharmacy Intern, or State Registration Pharmacy TechnicianHCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is a 238-bed acute care hospital. For 40 years, we have served Bay County and the surrounding communities. We are an accredited facility offering comprehensive care. This includes advanced cardiac assessment and treatment. We offer certified women's services. Our hospital has dedicated spaces for adult and pediatric emergency services. We are certified in Advanced Primary Stroke Care. Our hospital is accredited as a Comprehensive Breast Care Center. We are the area's only Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation. Other services that we offer include orthopedic care and joint replacement, robotic surgery, cardiac, vascular, and interventional services. We are home to the only Pediatric ER in the community. We have the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in the region. Together, we continue to raise the bar in healthcare.
