Licensed Group Home in New Tecumseh

　　Home Care Assistance, Barrie Simcoe County is a Staffing Solution company. Our Community Caregivers play a critical role within our community! 

　　We are offering part-time hours for this position. The shifts are a combination of days and evenings with bi-weekly weekends preferred.  It is a licensed group home residence supporting male young adults.  Each individual has their bedroom and the common areas of the home are shared. 

　　As a PSW/DSW, your typical day will impact in the following ways:

　　Ensures and promotes the provision of resident-focused care to meet the needs of residents

　　Provides supervision and/or assistance to residents in the activities of daily living including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per residents’ plans of care to meet their needs and expectations

　　Provides care and services to residents concerning their senses and communication by encouraging residents to wear individual sensory aids such as glasses, hearing aids, etc.

　　Provides cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support  

　　Provides oral and dental care  

　　Performs other duties as assigned 

　　Must haves:  

　　CPI training (GPA would be a plus)

　　Valid CPR

　　Demonstrated working experience with the elderly in a health care setting, knowledgeable concerning their needs

　　Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatment and related bedside care to the residents

　　Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with residents, families, and visitors

　　All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Police Vulnerable Sector Check
