　　What You Will Do

　　To present approved curriculum for prenatal and postpartum classes; designed to provide information and techniques to childbearing couples and their families. Provide educational classes for women of all ages, to promote good health. The emphasis is to provide correct and updated information, instilling confidence in the participants and increase their awareness of available support services.

　　Required Qualifications

　　AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED

　　Certified Lactation Educator (CLE) - Various-Employee provides certificate -REQUIRED

　　Certified Childbirth Educator (CCCE) - Various-Employee provides certificate OR ICEA Certified Childbirth Educator (ICCE) - Various-Employee provides certificate OR Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) - Lamaze International -REQUIRED

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　H.S. Diploma or Equivalent

　　1 Year as an active certified childbirth educator.

　　Essential Functions

　　Class preparationSets up room and equipment as needed; verifies participants have appropriate course materials; documenting any changes to course roster.Prepares equipment as needed.

　　Class facilitationFollows SHC criteria.Facilitates group discussions.Demonstrates effective teaching methods appropriate to the patient's age, developmental level, gender, cultural background, language and education.Evaluation of participant's learning via return demonstration of skill, verbalization of understanding.Utilizes feedback from participants in making recommendations to approved curriculum that increase the opportunities for participants learning.Shares classes and services available through Sharp HealthCare to participants in classes. Encourages participant(s) to complete class evaluations.
