Payroll and Personnel SpecialistAvailable Title(s):151E-YNCSNPS - Fiscal Specialist 1Business Title:Payroll and Personnel SpecialistEmployee Type:ClassifiedTime Type:Full timePosition Term:12 MonthPosition Details:Summary of Duties:The Fiscal Specialist 1 is responsible for coordinating payroll functions for Facilities Services bargaining unit, civil service, administrative personnel, and temporary/non-permanent employees. Develops short- and long-term planning for payroll and personnel initiatives to present to the Manager and Executive Leadership in Facilities Services. This position works independently under general supervision within the area of responsibility.Required Qualifications:• Three years of fiscal record keeping experience; OR equivalent education/experience.• Possession of, or ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license.• Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively orally and in writing.• Demonstrated ability to achieve and facilitate harmonious working relationships with others.Preferred Qualifications:• Experience in personnel or payroll coordination for a large organization or division.• Demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.• Knowledge of WSU Business policies and procedures in finance, personnel, and administration.• Experience working with confidential situations and documents.• Experience with WSU mainframe applications; Workday, OPDRS, OBIEE, and MyWSU• Knowledge of standard human resources principles, practices, and processes.To support WSU's ability to attract talent in a competitive job market, this recruitment has been approved for a hiring incentive payment of up to $1,000.00.
