Description

Thanks to that little rectangle in our pockets, everyone can take pictures. But not everyone’s a photographer. Not everyone can walk into an empty room and see where lighting, props, and people belong. Not everyone can shepherd a great idea from conception to execution. But you’re not everyone. You have the superpower of telling stories with pictures. If you want to use your powers for good, then we want to talk to you.

We’re the DC metro area’s best-kept secret: an award-winning, mold-breaking team of creative gurus artfully leveraging our craft to help people quit drugs or prevent type 2 diabetes, save energy and protect the planet, and celebrate women scientists (just to name a few) – one campaign at a time. It’s exciting work, and we do it as a family who knows how to have fun.

As an On-Call Photographer , you’ll:

Support public and private sector clients in tackling issues that really matter.

Collaborate with our creative staff – from copywriters to creative directors – to provide visual options that deliver a powerful message.

Make technical and artistic decisions on lens choice, exposure, lighting, composition, filters, and more for shoots in the DC area.

Plan shot lists and shooting schedules to meet objectives.

Apply light photoshopping or more advanced digital darkroom skills as necessary.

You’ll need:

Basic Qualifications

Five+ years of professional experience shooting photos for a variety of delivery platforms.

Strong communication and client-facing skills. On some projects, you may act as the intermediary between creative staff and client.

Experience with studio and location photography for documentary projects, events as well as portraits.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$80,743.00 - $137,263.00
