NBC Sports Next, an NBC Universal company, is hiring a Payment Operations Analyst. This role will support the Payment Operations team within NBC Sports Next, focusing primarily on the Youth & Recreational Sports business, but will also interact with our Golf businesses as well. The role will primarily be analyzing and underwriting new merchant onboarding applications that are submitted. Through this process, you will review supporting documentation to mitigate risk, watch for fraudulent activity as part of our KYC, CDD, and AML procedures. This will also include preparing reports of Audits, as well as tracking audit findings through to resolution. As an analyst you will also be analyzing payment processing trends, chargebacks, merchant behavior, potential fraudulent behavior and more. The ideal candidate is someone who can be an expert on our payment processing tool, lead improvements to current processes, and support our internal team by bringing best practices in a fast-changing payments environment.
Basic Requirements:
Provide support for daily payment operations, ensuring 100% accuracy.
Research and partner with our customer support and sales teams to resolve customer inquiries related to payments.
Understand, follow, and improve KYC and CDD documentation.
Ability to effectively identify fraudulent merchant application submissions through thorough analysis and use of internal and external underwriting tools.
Efficiently manage, sort, and organize merchant applications and supporting documentation.
Attention to detail as it relates to reviewing information submitted by merchants.
Attention to detail as it relates to monitoring transactions and merchants.
Seek out opportunities to automate or simplify complex processes.
Ensure payment and transaction processes work as intended.
Identify payment and transaction problems and patterns via available tools.
Identify and take ownership of errors and patterns in calculations, data, and related issues.
Review and analyze accounts to be able to make appropriate decisions as it relates to Risk Management.
Keep internal self-help documentation up to date.
Generate new ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and procedures to enhance the customer payment experience.

Desired Characteristics:
Bachelor’s degree.
2-3 year’s experience in underwriting and/or transaction monitoring.
Compliance knowledge with card brands and financial institutions, etc.
Experience with OFAC, AML, KYC, BSA regulatory requirements.
Detail-oriented and puts a high value on accuracy.
Self-starter with an extremely strong work ethic.
A team player who can work on a variety of projects simultaneously.
Proficiently uses Excel to create spreadsheets, models, and reports.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Motivated to work on a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
