The Manager Chaplaincy Services manage the services of the Pastoral Care Department at an assigned Methodist Health System campus ensuring the highest quality spiritual care to the patients, families and staff of the hospital.
Your Job Requirements:
4 units of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education
• 5 years chaplaincy experience in a hospital setting
2-3 years management experience in a hospital setting
Certification or eligibility for certification within two years of hire by a nationally recognized professional organization, such as Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, National Association of Jewish Chaplains, Spiritual Care Association.
Ordination in a recognized tradition and/or endorsement for hospital chaplaincy
Active participation in a faith community

Essential Duties and Measurements
Administer the Pastoral Care Department by meeting the mission/vision of MHS as well as the policies and procedures of the hospital.
A. Maintain pastoral and prophetic presence (through visibility, availability, dialog, prayers, etc.) to the assigned MHS facility staff, patients and families.
B. Manage all decedent care responsibilities at assigned MHS facility.
C. Facilitate Clinical Ethics referrals.
D. Provides support to the accredited ACPE CPE program through mentorship, supervision, and delivery of education content for CECs, residents, and interns.
E. Co-facilitates with other chaplains special programs and projects appropriate to the overall ministry and goals of MHS.
F. Works with Director and Manager of Pastoral Services & CPE to ensure program compliance with ACPE standards and accreditation.
G. Participates in the recruitment of qualified CPE interns and residents, and serves as clinical administrator for chaplain residents and interns .
I. Track Pastoral Services Budget for assigned MHS campus and help maintain ongoing financial controls and annual budgeting
J. Participate in the spiritual and ritual life of assigned MHS facility. Oversee department participation in facility committees and hospital process improvements. Serve as faith representative for hospital and liaison to area faith communities. Provide spiritual leadership to the hospital-at-large in order to enhance the spiritual life of the hospital.
K. Develop/maintain annual goals and measureable outcomes in collaboration with MHS Director of Pastoral Services. Maintain requirements for board certification, which may include denominational requirements and continuing education.
L. Depending on assignment, may be required to possess ACPE Educator Certification.
M. Conduct yearly performance of all direct reports.
N. Maintain Pastoral and Prophetic presence (through visibility, availability, dialogue, prayer, etc. providing pastoral care to patients and families and physicians and MHS Staff.
