POSITION PURPOSE / IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATIONThis is a highly responsible supervisory position that manages and directs thedesign and construction management of capital improvement projects andprograms related to planning, acquisition and development of parks, openspace, recreational facilities, trails and other projects, and theactivities of the parks and open space master planning process. The Planningand Design Superintendent works with independence within their assignedsections and delegate responsibilities as deemed necessary. Goals andobjectives for this position are established with a team approach and areevaluated by the PRL Operations Manager for accomplishment of desiredobjectives and results.
Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and CertificationsRequired:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a Planning andDesign discipline, such as urban design, architecture, or landscapearchitecture combined with at least ten (10) years of directly relatedexperienThree (3) years of supervisory experience of both professional andtechnical staffAt least five (5) years of experience working for a public agencyLandscape Architect licensure as required under Colorado state lawProficiency using AutoCAD, GIS, SketchUp and Microsoft Office productsValid driver's license and safe driving record
Preferred:Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Public Administration,Urban, Environmental or Regional Planning or a closely related field from anaccredited college or universityProject Management Professional (PMP) certificationCertification through the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)
