Job Summary:
Under general supervision, liaisons with physicians, patients and department staff to assure optimum patient care and efficient and effective operations; plans, develops, evaluates, coordinates, and implements specified Physical Therapy programs including activities and assigned personnel to assure optimum patient care; ensures development of program meets need of customers; performs duties of physical therapist.
Essential Responsibilities:
Collaborates with physicians and supervisor to development program service strategy, enhancement opportunities, and marketing; liaisons with physicians, patients and department staff to ensure optimum patient care and efficient and effective operations. Develops and maintains reports and outcomes data pertaining to Physical Therapy services, quality improvement, and program evaluation studies. Plans, recommends, and implements approved changes pertaining to programs, physical layout, equipment, or operational procedures; develops new programs to address identified patient care needs. Develops and updates guidelines, policies, procedures, standards of care, materials and programs for Physical Therapy services as appropriate. Participates in Rehabilitation Services Steering Committee.
Provides direct patient care; evaluates patients; documents pertinent past history, detailed account of presenting complaints; performs appropriate examination; renders follow-up treatments as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
Minimum two (2) years physical therapy experience.
Education
Bachelors degree or four (4) years experience in a directly related field.
Graduate of Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy (CAPTE) accredited college.
License, Certification, Registration
Physical Therapist License (Hawaii)
National Provider Identifier required at hire
Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrates working knowledge and appropriate application of CPT-4 codes for all services provided; maintains current knowledge of coding modifications and/or definitions; attends ongoing coding training sessions.
Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide care and/or service to age groups served.
Knowledge of physical therapy quality assurance standards and implementation.
Demonstrated ability to physically assist patients in performance of functional tasks and therapeutic exercises.
Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, decision making, customer service, influence, interpersonal relations, negotiation, oral communication, problem solving, results orientation, team building/coaching, teamwork, written communication.
Proficient in the use of the PC and MS Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Development and documentation of policies and procedures.
One (1) year supervisory and/or lead experience.
Doctors degree in Physical Therapy.
