　　The Orthopedic Technician (Ortho Tech) is responsible to provide the highest quality comprehensive patient care to ensure positive patient outcomes when casting, bracing, and/or applying orthotics as directed by the physician. He/She will work directly with the orthopedic surgeons to ensure that continuity of patient care including patient education and assessment of need is addressed in a timely manner. The Ortho Tech is a resource to ancillary staff i.e. Patient Care Assistants and Certified Medical Assistants to include brace fitting and application.

　　Position Requirements

　　High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization, Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant and 3 years or more of direct patient care experience. Additional years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of minimum education requirements. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).

　　Registered Orthopedic Technician. Knowledge of Cast and Ortho Application.
