About the Role
This Operations leadership role requires a career hotelier who has demonstrated experience in a similar role in the luxury / lifestyle hotel sector. Someone who recognises that culture is key–with the drive to create an enabling and empowering environment that brings the best out of our team to ensure they deliver truly memorable experiences for our guests.
Every day is different at IHG, but you’ll mostly be:
Working closely with your General Manager; occasionally acting up in their absence.
Directing everyday activity and assignments to enable your team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Work as part of the senior leadership team, to execute the InterContinental Brand standards, and build awareness of the hotel and brand in the local community.
Establishing and implementing service recovery guidelines in order to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
Responding to guest concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
Managing operational projects to elevate the product and guest experience.
Supporting your General Manager to develop, implement and monitor financial and operating plans to safeguard guest satisfaction and promote profitability.
What we need from you
Although the overall purview for this role is for ‘total operations’, initially the position requires a Rooms Division specialist with highly developed leadership skills in, and knowledge of, Front Office, Concierge/ Bell, Club Lounge, Housekeeping and Engineering.
Superior problems solving skills and an ability to execute the hotel vision through effective organisation, facilitating a culture of teamwork and devotion to Brand standards.
Heightened knowledge and experience in delivering and elevating superior guest service.
Demonstrated experience in team development is essential as is the ability to foster an environment that is both supportive and highly productive.
Attention to detail, punctuality, consistency and collaborative yet decisive style would be valued.
The role has high visibility and thus requires a professional that leads by example, is engaging to all guests, colleagues and partners alike.
Superior representational and presentation skills make this role the final steppingstone to General Manager
Candidate Requirements
Candidates must hold Australian/NZ citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency or unrestricted work rights to ensure business continuity.
Bachelor’s degree, higher education qualification or equivalent in Hotel Management or Business Administration.
Minimum of 3-5 years in a senior leadership capacity in the luxury/lifestyle hotel sector, as Operations Manager or EAM/Hotel Manager, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be a Rooms Division specialist with demonstrated experience with Front Office, Concierge/ Bell, Club Lounge, Housekeeping and Engineering).
Superior communication skills in written and verbal English.
Other languages are desirable.
