  GENERAL PURPOSE

  The Operations Manager is a key position at Pulsafeeder (Rochester) responsible for identifying, defining and leading opportunities to improve supply chain and inventory processes, production planning and customer satisfaction through optimization of component availability. The Operations Manager will organize and implement strategic initiatives and standardized approaches in Order Management, Demand Planning/Management, Procurement/Sourcing, and Materials/Inventory Management. This position will be leading production planning/scheduling, strategic and tactical purchasing, and inventory/materials management for the Pulsafeeder Rochester site.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  Lead day-to-day responsibilities in the areas of procurement, demand planning/management, and materials/inventory management as required to meet the needs of the business and our customers.

  Identify, develop, and direct implementation of improvement opportunities through the use of Lean Manufacturing tools, six sigma, kaizen, flow efficiency, and other methods, as appropriate.

  Own and partner with business unit leaders and their teams to achieve financial and operational targets including safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory turnover

  Develop and implement long and short-term strategies for optimizing parts quality, delivery, inventory levels and material costs.

  Monitor daily inventory operations to ensure high inventory accuracy to ensure 95% on time delivery for the customer. Investigates and resolves inventory problems/issues such as cycle count accuracy discrepancies to ensure inventory integrity.

  Lead and drive Material/Inventory Management best practices including Purchasing, Warehouse Management and Advanced Replenishment Methods through PFEP process (Plan For Every Part). Own inventory to effectively forecast and optimize inventory levels and inventory turns

  Direct oversight of site Purchasing activities, and Buyer’s activities.

  Facilitate training and development of employees including performance reviews, frequent on-going feedback and setting SMART goals and objectives.

  Lead supplier improvement initiatives through a regular cadence supplier report cards focused on quality, delivery, cost, and service.

  Own and drive improvements in Direct Material Inflation, Purchase Price Variance, Lead time, and On time delivery.

  Establish a formal SIOP process that will quantitatively monitor forecasts and sales trend to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain parameters and the supply base

  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business discipline with Supply Chain/Materials focus

  Advanced degree, MS and/or MBA, is preferred

  8 or more years related experience in a supply chain and/or manufacturing environment

  5 or more years of supervisory experience

  APICS certification a plus

  Experience in a low-volume, high-mix, engineered-to-order manufacturing environment

  Experience with global supply chain

  Up to 15-20% travel required

  Demonstrated leadership capabilities

  Basic knowledge of ERP/MRP systems – JDE preferred

  Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills

  Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills

  Willing to work with processes and systems that are evolving and subject to change

  Ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently with minimal supervision

  Strong orientation toward continuous improvement – Lean/Six Sigma

  Proven experience of building strong teams, creating a culture of trust, and driving business excellence

  Must be self-motivated and resourceful

  Strong collaboration, training and coaching skills

  Ability to motivate teams and work efficiently cross functionally

  Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  Total Rewards

  The compensation range for this position is $83,500.00 - $125,300.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
