Behavioral Crisis Center - Independence, Missouri
Full Time
Burrell is seeking a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) for our innovative Behavioral Crisis Center in Independence, Missouri.
The Behavioral Crisis Center is Burrell's 24/7 “rapid-access” mental health and substance-use clinic, which is an alternative to the hospital Emergency Department (ED) for individuals whose presenting problem is primarily psychiatric and/or substance use (including opioid use).
What you will get to do:
BHCs work closely with PCPs as members of the medical team in the primary care environment, providing routine consultation with providers and brief 15-30 minute assessments and interventions with patients referred from PCPs for same-day warm hand-offs and follow-up care.
BHCs provide evidence-based interventions to promote positive health behaviors for overall health, address immediate needs related to psychological health, assess safety, and screen for behavioral health disorders.
BHCs give clear and concise feedback to providers, describe action plans, and establish plans for follow-up.
They facilitate integrated patient care by working collaboratively with medical teams, providing teams with education about identification and treatment of behavioral health concerns, supporting referrals to specialty mental health as needed, and promoting positive working relationships between medical partners and Burrell Behavioral Health.
Qualifications:
Must possess at least a Master’s degree in a Human Services field.
Must be licensed in Missouri as a Professional Counselor (LPC), a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist (PhD/PsyD/LP).
Provisional licensure (PLPC, LMSW, or PLP) may be considered.
Applicants should have an interest in and/or experience with brief interventions, team-based care, a wide variety of psychiatric, substance abuse and behavioral medicine problems, and diverse populations.
What we offer:
Great pay, great schedule, great benefits, and an amazing culture of inclusiveness and positivity. Burrell’s dedication to promoting diversity, multiculturalism, and inclusion is clearly reflected in all of our content and across all of our agency. Diversity is more than a commitment at Burrell—it is the foundation of what we do. About Brightli
Brightli is on a mission: A mission to improve client care, reduce the financial burden of community mental health centers by sharing resources, a mission to have a larger voice in advocacy to increase access to mental health and substance use care in our communities, and a mission to evolve the behavioral health industry to better meet the needs of our clients. We are doing this by forming a new behavioral health organization under new model. Under one parent company, multiple organizations are able to collaborate, share resources and system supports, increase recruiting and retention efforts, increase access to specialized care, and meet the growing demand for behavioral and addiction recovery care.
Brightli’s top-line subsidiaries include Burrell Behavioral Health (Burrell) and Preferred Family Healthcare (PFH). While these organizations operate independently and are governed by separate board of directors, their operations and services benefit from this model. Alone, organizations may be able to navigate the current tumultuous healthcare environment, but we believe that together we can do so much more than survive. Our communities need us now more than ever, and by working together we are ready to answer their call for years to come.
