  HDR has an exceptional opportunity for an Area Power Sector Leader in our New York/New Jersey Area Resources Business Group. HDR's NY/NJ Area Power Sector supports a wide variety of projects from power delivery to offshore wind and other renewables. The successful candidate for this position will be a well-rounded, team-oriented individual with excellent communication skills who is capable of providing oversight and direction to a team of approximately 30 professionals and interfacing with other HDR areas, business development leads, and practice leads.

  This is primarily an operational position ensuring we are providing timely and quality services on projects to our clients, on schedule and on budget, while meeting HDR internal financial goals. This role will also include setting a vision for the group as a whole and working with Power Sector senior leadership and managers/staff in achieving growth objectives and promoting the success of the Area Power Sector. The individual in this position will still function as a Project Principal and/or Project Manager while also taking on management responsibilities for the NY/NJ Area Power Sector.

  PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  In the role of NY/NJ Area Resources Power Sector Leader, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  Support senior leadership in setting the vision for Area Power Sector and direction for implementation of HDR's goal to expand and provide services associated with the power markets in the NY/NJ AreaWork with and support Power Sector national practice and regional business development leadership and Area Resources Business Group Manager to identify and pursue new opportunities to grow the businessSupport Area Resources Business Group Manager in meeting goals and alignment with overall strategies and visionSupport, as needed, area business development activities including strategic planning, annual and long-term goals, client development, community and industry participation, project pursuits, and staffingParticipate in Area Power Sector strategic planning, budgeting and plan implementationAssist Area Resources Business Group Manager, as needed, with daily operations such as project oversight, management reviews, quality control, and financial elements for the Area Power SectorRoutinely convey required information and provide status updates to area management on activities ongoing within the Power SectorAct as the liaison for the sections in gaining required approvals (e.g., promotions, training, salary increases) from the area managementMonitor the group's key performance indicators and implement any necessary actions for improvement *LI-MP1

  Qualifications .REQUIRED QUALICATIONS

  Technical knowledge related to performing and managing tasks in the areas of power generation and power delivery and understanding of business managementBachelor's degree in a Professional, Engineering, or Science related fieldMaintains a professional or engineering registration (such as a PE)10+ years of management experience and leading groupsActively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand Strong business skills; specifically, in the handling of budgets, staff, and operational issuesPossess an attitude and commitment to being an active participant of HDR's employee-owned cultureCandidates who reside locally in the NY/NJ area are preferred. The expected compensation range for this position is $130,410- $232,875 annually/hourly depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
