Enviri Corporation, a trusted Global leader in environmental services, is hiring a full-time North America Payroll Manager to join our Total Rewards Team to lead our payroll functions for US and Canada. The position is located in Camp Hill, PA offering a hybrid schedule of in office 3 days and work from home 2 days per week.

Ideal candidates will have prior payroll management experience in a multi-cycle, multi-state, multi-employer environment, have strong knowledge of payroll tax and wage and hour compliance, and above-average proficiency in MS Excel. In addition, you will be able to display a strong customer service orientation as well as a high degree of professional integrity.
Reporting to the Director of Payroll Services, the Payroll Manager will work in close and constant collaboration with members of the Total Rewards, Division HR, Finance, and IT teams. Direct reports include Payroll Tax Analyst, Payroll Supervisor (Gross-to-Net) with two subordinates, and a team of three (Payroll Services) responsible for front-end payroll preparation and back-end support functions.
Job Description
Manage and support the day-to-day operations of the payroll department.
Ensure that all payroll processes are clearly documented, executed appropriately and in a timely manner.
Operate as the subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues and continuously looks for improvements in operational processes and designs and implements those initiatives.
Optimize the contribution of the team through coaching, counseling and implement workable solutions to business issues/problems.
Conduct work planning, estimation and prioritization to optimize performance of team and work collaboratively to define standards and reusable approaches for Payroll operations.
Monitor and adjust workflows of staff to ensure balanced distribution of the workload and offer professional growth through delegation where appropriate.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices, educate and train staff, and advise leadership of changes.
Ensure completeness and accuracy of payroll-related general ledger accounts. Balances payroll accounts by auditing information, identifying and resolving discrepancies, reviewing and approving journal entries.
Partner with Division HR leadership on projects impacting payroll.
Assist in developing change management communications.
Partner with Payroll Supervisor to test new system configurations.
Review and sign off on quarter-end balancing for quarterly tax returns for multi-state employer.
Arrange timeline to complete tasks and department assignments or projects, and meet the deadlines related to those assignments.
Work on special projects to help achieve the objectives of the department.
Responsible for ongoing evaluation of all direct reports and conducting introductory period, mid-year and annual performance reviews.
Lead and support internal and external audit requests and ensure redaction of employee PII.
Requires effective planning, prioritization, multitasking and organizational skills, originality, and flexibility in setting up, maintaining, and controlling rigid deadlines and schedules.
Provide customer service to internal and external customers with a sense of urgency and professionalism via email, phone, written request or in person.
Work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
A Highschool Diploma or GED
A minimum of 7 years Payroll Manager experience.
Knowledge of Oracle, ADP, UKG or similar payroll system is desired.
Must be proficient in MS Office with above average proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables and vlookups).
Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
Strong organizational and time management skills needed. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet dynamic deadlines with short notice.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
FPC or CPP certification a plus.
An understanding of California's Payroll compliance regulations
