This is where YOU fit in: NGIS Whidbey is in need of a Guest Service Representative to answer the call; a team player who is dedicated to supporting our local Naval community, and operational successes on a day to day basis. You will perform a variety of tasks which involve making the NGIS a home away from home for our valued guests. Your work will make an impact and support how our organization serves the best customer – our Military patrons and their families. So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed? o Serves as first point of contact with guests; Assists guests with all requests, in person or via telephone. o Making, confirming and/or cancelling room reservations, collecting payments and presenting lodging receipts, check-in/check-out process, authorized patron verification, guest room assignments, credit card processing etc. o Operates a multi-line telephone system, records and delivers messages, as required, and answering inquiries pertaining to services, base facilities, area attractions and travel directions. The Qualifiers: o 1 year of experience in progressively responsible work related to position to be filled. o 1 year general office clerical experience o Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to perform job duties. o Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One (1) year progressively responsible experience related to the position to be filled. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Study completed in a college, university, or junior college, above the high school level, may be substituted on the basis of one-half academic year of study for 6 months of experience. - May be required to obtain NEXCOM Hospitality Group (NHG) front desk certification within 6 months of employment, as well as, any other requirements
