  West National Account Manager

  Context and Scope:

  Diageo Canada’s ambition is to build the best performing, most trusted and respected Consumer Company in Canada! We are a total beverage alcohol company operating within the spirits, beer, and RTD categories. The role of West National Account Manager is responsible for retail business performance, building short- and long-term partnership between National Accounts and Diageo, supporting our mutual growth aspirations!

  The National Account Manager will report into the West Performance Director, work alongside the Broker’s sales team who will be leading the field execution in retail.

  Purpose of Role:

  To own the development, execution of the market and customer strategy, delivering short- and long-term sustainable growth that meets our joint aspirations. Responsible, in line with Diageo Canada’s objectives, for defining National Account goals and devising the plan to deliver against these goals.

  

  Key Outputs and Results:

  Make the plan and beat the competition

  Responsible for promotional calendars with the West National Accounts.Will monitor business performance on a daily, weekly, monthly basis and course correct to ensure that we are able meet or exceed our goals.Outpace the Spirits Industry in share growth.Enable Diageo to be the partner of choice with the strategic customers.Leverage customer marketing, marketing, finance, and supply chain to bring breakthrough ideas for our customers.Work across Diageo North America and Global Customer Marketing to access breakthrough thinking and phenomenal ideas for our customer.

  Develop and Implement Retail Promotional Strategy

  Collaborate with internal support functions to develop and implement the promotional plan with the West National Accounts.Leverage customer marketing, marketing, finance, and supply chain to bring breakthrough ideas for our customers.Partner with the Broker Regional Sales Director to lead the ongoing development of the Sales strategy and Key Performance Indicators.Lead the execution of the Brand and Sales Strategy.Contribute to the broader strategy development in Sales across Canada.Maintain high levels of team engagement and a culture that encompasses Diageo Values.Educate and inspire the total organization to establish understanding of the West National Accounts and how we can best partner with them.Qualifications and Experience Required:

  An expert Sales/Business Leader with a consistent track record of delivering results over time.Broad Sales and Commercial capability ideally with depth in Field Sales, Key Account Management and Customer Marketing.Has deep understanding of how brands and categories are built.Previous experience of working with sophisticated retail customers with a track record of building positive relationships partnering to deliver business growth.Strong Sales and Commercial strategy skills.Highly skilled in complex negotiations and conflict resolution.Very strong financial capability (can understand a complex P&L in depth).Knowledge of the beverage alcohol industry and experience in a liquor-controlled environment is a distinct advantage.
