To quote a popular saying at TNC, "you'll join for the mission, and you'll stay for the people."WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHERThe Intern will work on the Editorial Content team to support editing and creating social media videos and basic graphics for TNC social channels. Responsibilities may include re-cutting stories from existing content, creating basic graphics for thumbnails or social posts, writing performance-driven copy, and supporting other content creation within TNC's social content strategy. Responsibilities may also include backend project and subject interview coordination, concept creation, analytics review, and story and keyword research.The Intern will report to the Senior Content Producer and Strategist, Editorial and Content within the Storytelling team of the Global Marketing division.As the Multimedia Content Creator Intern, you will:Support editing of videos for social channels, including repurposing content for the webEdit stories using existing footage and re-package videosAssist in delivering a serial video content package as part of the social media strategyPerform story and keyword researchAssist with backend project coordination, including coordinating interviewsCreate basic graphics for video thumbnails and static social posts (Canva level)Write performance-driven copy for video captions and social media postsParticipate in brainstorming and pitching creative content ideasLearn and apply social media best practices to optimize content performanceWork collaboratively across Storytelling production teamsWE'RE LOOKING FOR YOUWe are looking for a Multimedia Content Creator Intern to fill a paid 10-week Summer internship. The intern can be a Junior or Senior undergraduate student, graduate student, or recent graduate (between 2024-2025). This position is remote but based in the United States with a preferred location of Colorado (but not required). Shooting video in the field may be required for some projects. This role will provide a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academics and real-world work. We offer an orientation, networking opportunities, and professional, hands-on work experience.WHAT YOU'LL BRINGMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSExperience editing social media videos (professionally, personally, or academic projects)Experience in creative writing, research, and editingHS Diploma or equivalent. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate (or graduate) program of digital media, communications, marketing, or related field, or a recent graduate with a degree in one of these or a related field.Experience in conservation and non-profit marketingproficient in written and oral communication skillsAccess to a reliable internet connectionDESIRED QUALIFICATIONSBasic knowledge of social media analyticsClose attention to detailBasic graphic design skills (Canva level)Familiarity with basic SEO principles and keyword researchInterest in storytelling, science communications, and audience engagement strategiesSelf-starter, taking initiative, and demonstrating confidence to ask questions and seek inputStrong organizational skills and attention to detailMulti-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciatedKnowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software, with the ability to construct and produce reportsWHAT WE BRINGSince 1951, TNC has been doing work you can believe in.
