All candidates must be willing to undergo a background screening.Day to Day ResponsibilitiesAssist in performing set up and performance verification of fiber optic testing systemConfigure product samples for environmental and mechanical testingPerform optical measurements using manual or automated test systemsProgram and operate environmental chambers and test equipmentSetup/perform and track/report progress of testing as directedDocument test results from optical fiber component testing as per documented proceduresConduct basic data analysisDraft test reports in the proper format and filed accordinglyAssist in conducting failure mode analysisPerform basic troubleshooting/problem solvingMaintain a safe, clean and organized work areaEducation/ExperienceHigh School diploma minimumPrevious experience in electronics and/or fiber optics is a plusExperience in a laboratory environment is highly desirableRequired skills:- Computer skills, particularly for use in data processing/data analysis.- Familiarity with basic measurement tools (gauges, scales, micrometers)- Able to physically pull/maneuver cables and be exposed to temperature changesAdditional Requirements- Candidates must have good eye sight.- Must have ability to handle very small, delicate parts.- Must be a quick learner and have confidence in their ability
