JOB OVERVIEWThe Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of theSecurity Operations Center. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring clients' security systems, communicating with Security Officers and Technicians in the field, and relaying calls for service to the appropriate agencies or units.
The Security Operations Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. SOC Analysts are expected to be available to work all shifts including holidays and weekends.
SOC Analysts report to the SOC Supervisors and the SOC Manager and serve as a member of the SecurityOperations Center team. This position supports the needs and activities of the company, supervisors/managers, and other personnel. SOC Analysts must also be able to display a friendly and helpful attitude while working with fellow associates and clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary responsibility of this position is to perform several duties pertaining to the day-to-day operations of the Security Operations Center.
Receives incoming emergency and non-emergency phone calls and alarms from the public and staff requesting police, fire, emergency medical, security, or other assistance.Relay incoming/outgoing phone calls providing technical or non-technical support for both commercial and residential customersClassifies the nature and determines the priority of calls.Generates alarm reports.Maintain confidentiality of customers and company records.Monitors internal and external security and fire systems.Assists emergency service units in the field by securing and verifying information through computers, department files, records, and other available sources of data.Obtains and coordinates the assistance of emergency personnel as needed.Maintains accurate records of complaints, logs, and information received.Operates two-way radio to relay instructions or information to remote units.Operates recorders, video monitoring displays, computer-aided dispatching equipment/software, and other dispatch-related equipment.Helps train new SOC Analyst and assist supervision in evaluating the progress and/or performance of probationary employees.May perform the duties of a superior in the absence of this person and with an appointment from the management team.Complete training utilizing programs that will aid with dispatch and alarm services.Participate and provide valuable input at Daily Briefings.Ability to handle multiple emergency situations.Work areas are shared. Analysts must keep the area clear and free of clutter.Performs other related duties as required.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent required.2 years of experience in public emergency service field/agency (police, fire, ambulance dispatch), private security, armed forces, IT, or another related field preferred.Associate's Degree or Certification in IT, Cyber Security, Criminal Justice, or another related field preferred.QUALIFICATIONSYou must be motivated, engaged, ambitious, and looking to build a long-term career. You must be prepared to work as part of a team, acting quickly and professionally as you respond to urgent, potentially stressful situations. You must also display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as you will interact with a variety of clients, and staff in addition to external visitors.
