This position is for a Medical Sonographer - Health Care Pool/PRN which is located in the Ultrasound/Radiology Department.
This position can cover weekday shift coverageAS NEEDED7a.m-4:30p.m.
Also required is analternatingcall rotationafternormal business hours which include:
4:30p.m-7a.m. on weekdays and 7a.m-7a.m on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.
Preference may be given to candidates with ARMDS Credentials and to candidates with one or more years of experience in Abdomen, Ob/Gynecology, Breast and Small Parts.
No Civil Service test scoreis required in order to be considered for this vacancy.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Either of the following will qualify:
Eligibility for registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
Eligibility for registration with Cardiovascular Credentialing International as an RCIS, RCS, or RVS.
Job Concepts
Function of Work:
To perform a variety of technical ultrasound scans, and attend to the needs of the patient for the duration of the procedure.
Level of Work:
Entry.
Supervision Received:
Close from Medical Sonographer Supervisor.
Supervision Exercised:
None.
Location of Work:
Statewide health care facilities.
Job Distinctions:
Differs from Medical Sonographer Applicant by the presence of eligibility to register with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
Differs from Medical Sonographer 2 by the absence of experienced level duties.
Examples of Work
Completes daily equipment check procedures to ensure equipment is safe and ready to use.
Performs Sonography of all organ systems to include ABD, Obstetrical, GYN, Neonatal Neurology, Retroperitoneal, Renal, Vascular, Doppler and Thyroid.
Performs fetal heart echocardiology. Detects pericardial effusions.
Schedules patients for tests, reviews patient history, and extracts information. Keeps records on all work done, maintains patient and teaching files.
Assists in research projects.
May order supplies and equipment needed in the laboratory.
