The Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, located in New Hyde Park, NY, is conducting a search for a Full Time Medical Records Coding Clerk skilled in ICD-10, medical records and medical terminology join our team at our world-class skilled nursing facility located on the Queens-Long Island border.Key Tasks Include: Codes all admissions and re-admissions according to coding guidelinesChecks in all discharge charts, contacts units if not receivedMake color-coded terminal digit folder for all discharged records and pulling old folders for previously discharged recordsMaintain transfer logsProcess request for primary care physicians.Maintains correspondence logs.Assembles, analyzes and log deficiencies.Pull records for requestors, including in-house requestsMaintain chart location log bookPurge old records for storageOther requests, as neededPosition Qualifications: High School Diploma or GEDThorough understanding of ICD-10 principles of codingCCP (Certified Professional Coder) or equivalent certificationSkilled in medical terminology and an understanding of anatomy; familiarity with EHR a plus Computer Savvy-proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with strong data entry skillsExcellent communication and customer service skillsSomeone who likes to be part of a team; contributes as an active team member; helps out the team as needed
