  Job Description Summary

  The EMEA GE HealthCare Tax Operations Team is part of the GE Healthcare Global Finance Organization, working closely with business Controllership teams and the wider HQ/regional/local Tax teams.

  Working as part of the EMEA GE Healthcare’s Tax Operations team, the role includes managing the Tax Operations for entities established in a cluster of countries in the EMEA region (with a specific focus for the entities established and/or tax resident in Germany), all with the highest integrity and complying with tax laws. Said cluster of countries may vary from time to time.

  As a Level Professional Band position, the role requires sound technical understanding of tax accounting and compliance and a very good understanding of business processes, routines and procedures. This role will work closely with the other tax operations team members, the wider global tax team and the Company controllers, including peer review responsibilities and the sharing of best practices.

  Job Description

  Essential responsibilities:

  Oversee the tax fillings, compliance and reporting requirements. Ensure that all tax filings and internal and external obligations are submitted by the due dates, as well as payments and submission to local institutions.

  Own the preparation process of all tax returns (including but not limited to: CIT, Trade Tax , WHT, other local taxes, etc.) with the support of external service providers. Liaise with various stakeholders internally and tax authorities as appropriate/needed.

  Prepare/review tax provisions and calculations, tax payments, deferred tax calculations. Post tax provision JE’s, where OneSource is not able to post entries. Prepare quarterly ARM reconciliations.

  Prepare and submit requests relating to the WHT clearances and exemptions certificates and ensure that the Companies’ clearances/certificates be renewed on a timely manner. Request tax residency certificates to competent tax authorities where required by Business Partners/ Intercompany teams.

  Work closely with and support the global TP and VAT teams in relation to local obligations, projects, audits, etc.

  Work closely with the Business Tax team and provide support on tax advisory and tax projects initiatives.

  Ensure that the cash forecast/estimates files are well maintained and up to date.

  Coordinate tax audits in line with EMEA best practices: ensuring that each stakeholder knows which actions they should perform within which deadline, maintaining a tracker that links to a space gathering information, sending reminders to the teams, organizing regular update calls, working together with external service providers to track the progress towards the tax authorities, reaching out directly to tax authorities as needed/appropriate, and be a contact person for the tax auditors together with local Finance Team, etc. In addition, manage the process for issuance, collection, and record retention of all tax documentation where these documents are required to support current or future tax audits.

  Support the identification, implementation and monitoring of tax controls necessary to manage potential tax risk areas.

  Drive and be involved in projects, interact with cross-functional teams within the organization.

  Work with the wider GE Healthcare Tax team and, where applicable, internal and third-party advisors, to research tax technical issues impacting the accuracy of the returns and general tax positions/profile of the companies.

  Identify areas for process, systems, and reporting improvements to efficiently and effectively meet compliance objectives.

  Work with the GE Healthcare tax team to manage engagements with third-party advisors.

  Contribute to the team development and provide support to colleagues as needed (juniors, newcomers, etc.).

  Ensure processes are in place to ensure that tax law changes are monitored and associated processes and tools for computing S2G (stat to gaap), S2T (stat to tax) and CIT calculations are maintained and that proposed changes to rules and databases are reviewed on an annual basis.

  Requirements / Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s /Master’s degree in accounting/finance / economy/law or another business-related field or equivalent knowledge or experience .

  Qualified Tax Advisor in Germany (Steuerberater ).

  Languages: written and verbal fluency in English and German.

  Desired Characteristics

  Familiarity with current and deferred income tax, accounting and tax compliance.

  In-house experience but candidate directly from Practice is also very welcome (tax accounting training is available internally).

  Strong analytical skills.

  Proactive and problem-solver attitude.

  Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong interpersonal skills; ability to build good partnership with all stakeholders in the processes.

  Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels, functions and regions; ability to develop professional relationship with auditors, tax advisors and cross-functional teams.

  Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others.
