About Manager, Pharmacy

  Job Description Summary:

  This position ensures the Pharmacy provides optimal service and complies with all legal, accreditation, certification requirements and complies with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of Logan Health (LH). Ensures that the Pharmacy has the resources (personnel, equipment, supplies) necessary to meet or exceed customer expectations. Works closely with assigned leadership and staff to ensures that systems are analyzed and continually improved.

  Qualifications:

  A baccalaureate or doctoral degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy required.

  Montana Pharmacy license in good standing with no prior disciplinary actions noted, required..

  Minimum of three (3) years’ leadership experience required.

  Possess working knowledge of personnel management, financial management and quality management principles required.

  Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

  Management Job Duties:

  Strategic Execution

  Drive organizational objectives by operationalizing changes and initiatives effectively and efficiently. Proactively anticipate both the needs of Logan Health and the impact operations has on the organization’s success. Collect and analyze data, prepare and present recommendations, and explain associated benefits and risks for improving operations.

  Business Acumen

  Demonstrate and further develop competencies in the areas of leadership, financial management, employee engagement, human resources knowledge, organizational dynamics and governance, organizational communication, strategic planning, change management, risk management, compliance, patient safety and quality improvement. Demonstrate professional ownership, self-development and a desire for life-long learning.

  Emotional Intelligence

  Serve as a role model for others by exhibiting the Logan Health core values: integrity, compassion, service, excellence and ownership. Lead and influence the team to provide outstanding customer service. Develop and foster relationships with other Logan Health leaders, departments and members of the team to support open communication, trust, transparency and collaboration.

  Leadership

  Creates a supportive department culture by fostering individual motivation, coaching and training for optimum job performance. Collaborates with Human Resources to develop, implement and support programs and processes that add value to Logan Health, its leadership and employees. Leads to improve culture, employee and physician engagement, empowerment, growth and retention, while remaining committed to Logan Health’s management and prosperity for its customers, employees and community.

  Job Specific Duties:

  Coordinates and evaluates the hiring and training process for the assigned Pharmacy area(s). Plans for and ensures adequate numbers of staff to fulfill departmental objectives. Responsible for scheduling, to include covering and working clinical pharmacist’s shifts as required.

  Proactively partners with Human Resources in the areas of employee relations, corrective action, performance management, recruiting, compensation, benefits and HR policies. Works closely with HR to develop job descriptions and job standards for each position and monitors for accuracy. Conducts annual evaluations according to HR guidelines. Provides regular, scheduled feedback to employees regarding performance.

  Plans for and ensures adequate supervision and support services.

  Assures that productivity standards are set according to regional and national standards.

  Monitors the management of productivity with fluctuating workload, and strives for optimal efficiency in the overall workflow of the assigned area(s).

  Exhibits a commitment to professionalism while undertaking all tasks and in all interactions.

  Plans for, develops and implements high quality services for all identified customers in accordance with the philosophy and mission statement of LH.

  Keeps abreast of current literature in areas of expertise. Assures regulatory (i.e., State, CMS) and other professional surveys are conducted in a professional and educational manner.

  Responsible for the development and implementation of sound business, regulatory, reimbursement and administrative practices. Prepares contracts and agreements as needed for provision of services. Assures each contract is appropriately signed, current and effective. Responsible for overall management and planning of the Pharmacy assigned area(s), assuring safety, cleanliness and a positive working environment.

  Maintains a high level of commitment to the financial success of the organization outside of normal department budget issues. Supports the overall strategic plan and new growth. This commitment is also evidenced by the sound, value-based decision-making over allocation of resources, auditing and monitoring practices, and promoting best practices to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients and LH as a whole

Other duties may be assigned similar to the above consistent with knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job. Not all of the duties may be assigned to a position.

  Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

  Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

  Schedule:

  Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
