JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview This position is responsible for themanagement of the complex telecommunications environment for the MercyHealth System. Direct responsibility will be the assurance of serviceand performance of the 7 x 24 x 365 operation of the telecommunicationsnetworks and related services for the System\'s facilities by performingthe following duties. May be required to work flexible hours andalternate shifts. Performs other duties as assigned. ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs routine duties andmaintenance for telephone and assigned communications systems. Managesswitchboard function at Janesville hospital and assists with switchboardat East, Woodstock and Walworth clinics. Supervises work of assignedstaff with responsibility for hiring, training, employee vacations andreviewing work assignments. Ensures systems capacity and reliability tomeet changing demands and requirements. Coordinates system testing, newinstallations, additions, moves, changes and alterations to telephoneand communications system and equipment. Identifies and addressesproblems regarding the telephone and related communications systems.Coordinates with end users on development and management of services tomeet business needs. Develops long and short term goals and objectivesfor the telecommunications operations that are consistent with thesystem\'s goals and objectives. Evaluates and makes recommendations forpurchase of new telecommunications equipment and systems. Utilizes RFPprocess, performs contract management and negotiations with selectedcontractors Manage the development and implementation of departmentaladministrative and operational policies and procedures. Prepares capitaland operating budgets for Communications Department. Acts as backupswitchboard operator as needed. EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCEBachelor\'s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or fiveor more year\'s related experience and/or training in communicationfield, preferably some at supervisory level. CERTIFICATION/LICENSUREValid driver\'s license SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS The Special PhysicalDemands are considered Essential Job Function of the position with orwithout accommodations.
