Description
Responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s accounts receivable and treasury functions; This role involves ensuring effective cash flow management, maintaining accurate financial records, and developing policies and procedures for accounts receivable and treasury.
The position reports to the Director of Financial Services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the overall maintenance and stewardship of accounts receivable and treasury in a multi-company environment.
Controls, manages, reviews, improves, or otherwise evaluates and corrects any policy, process, procedure, or activity for the efficient production of accounts receivable and treasury efforts.
Establishes daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and related timetables for accurate and complete postings.
Oversees daily reporting of cash flow to financial leadership.
Ensures the AR and Treasury teams are complying with generally accepted accounting principles.
Responsible for continuous improvement and innovation in all accounts receivable and treasury functions.
Manages, mentors, and guides a team of seven accounts receivable and treasury professionals.
Provides periodic reporting in accordance with policy and procedures.
Analyzes staff performance and recommends increases or decreases in staffing levels to meet business demands.
Identifies and advises the Director of Financial Services on training improvements, outside courses, or certifications that may be implemented within the team
Requirements
DUTIES:
Oversees timely and accurate responses to client requests for client adjustments and timely posting and applications of incoming client checks, wires, e-checks, credit card payments, and cash.
Oversees the timely sending of outgoing wires and ensures company policies related to outgoing wire payments are followed.
Reviews daily cash flow reports, daily incoming cash reconciliations, and accounts receivable productivity metrics.
Provides reporting of monthly department metrics.
Advises and directs staff regarding the handling of non-routine accounts receivable and treasury transactions.
Assists with IT system implementations and any adjustments to policy and process.
Analyzes and resolves customer account issues and discrepancies.
Prepares general journal entries and reconciliations for the month-end close and client debit memos and credit memos as required.
Collaborates and communicates regularly with Settlements and Collections management regarding client accounts and payment applications to ensure a positive client experience.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in business - Accounting preferred; minimum 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory role
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proficient with Excel and general ledger systems and software, with a preference for Microsoft GP; must be able to multi-task and adjust to new situations quickly; must have excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written; must have a proven ability to recruit, lead, mentor, evaluate and develop staff; must be extremely detail- oriented and have a positive attitude.
