Manager Business Development, Multi-Family Solutions
Location: Central USA (candidates must live near a major metropolitan area such as Chicago, IL / Minneapolis, MN / Indianapolis, IN / Cincinnati, OH / Kanas City, MO / St. Louis, MO / Dallas, TX).
Reports to: Director, Business Development Multifamily
The Manager Business Development, Multi-Family Solutions will be the central leader for all aspects of Multifamily Sales growth for all ASSA ABLOY brands in a specified geography. The position will have strong emphasis on team selling with a special focus on a technology first and a software centric sales approach. Success will be measured on overall multifamily category growth and key technology sales growth.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with Door Security Sales organization about technology and building trends, competitive intelligence, developer sales opportunities, emerging technologies, project pricing strategies
Serve as a technology and solutions expert on ASSA ABLOY’s multifamily hardware & software platforms as well as 3rd party software partner capabilities and sales models
Guide the sales process from the first discovery call through post project deployment in close coordination with DSS and channel partners
Educate customers including developers, architects, property managers, general contractors, integrators, 3rd party software partners, and distributors about the full breadth of solutions and services available through ASSA ABLOY and leverage this breadth of solutions as well as channel footprint to become the standard solutions provider for multifamily developers across repeat projects
Document, prioritize, and communicate market requirements and sales opportunities for new product and feature development and champion progress for critical gaps in coordination with sales and product leadership
Identify new localized marketing and customer resource opportunities and captain their creation
Coordinate escalated customer support situations via existing product and customer assistance channels alongside DSS
Identify, train, and develop new and existing channel partners alongside DSS
Form strategic alliances with local distribution, integrator, and software partners to garner repeat business
Attend and coordinate local, regional, and national trade events in the security and multifamily space- identify new strategic trade event investment opportunities
Host periodic internal and external web conferences on multifamily solution trends, technical updates, and opportunities with ASSA ABLOY solutions
Periodic sales success, and opportunity reporting and analysis
Requirements:
Mastery of team selling approach- leading, practicing, and coordinating
High degree of organization
Clear and concise communication capabilities across all forms of communication
Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct a business meeting and presentation with groups of all sizes
Proficiency with public speaking
Demonstrated ability to close sales with major property developers including all levels of an organization from the C Suite to the maintenance manager and a demonstrated understanding of the multifamily sales process
Demonstrated ability to uncover customer’s needs, identify business solutions and champion their development and create unique installation and service capabilities to support the sale of ASSA ABLOY solutions.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple internal and external contributors to achieve a common sales objective through clear, and concise communication
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) particularly the ability to conduct meaningful analysis of territory and market data to drive sales decisions and the ability to modify, build, and deliver a professional PowerPoint presentation
Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Teams to deliver presentations to a broad audience
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required.
5- 7 years of related business experience in hardware, software, apartment and condominium construction or sales into related end markets
