Alpena Grounds is looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team!
Performing routine preventative maintenance on special airfield equipment such as snow blowers, snowplows, sanding equipment, sand spreaders, and dump trucksInspect, perform routine maintenance, operate and test machinery to maintain airfield and ground equipment using multi wing mowers and collapsible brush hogsPerforming daily routine maintenance on and around the buildings and grounds, such as fixing structural damage caused from aircraft debris, landscaping and lawn care. Runway lighting inspections and repairs. Personal boarding bridge and Sky Bridge inspection and maintenance.Maintaining biweekly leased buildings on airport property (3) to avoid structural damage caused by planes, maintaining sprinkler system, lighting, and plumbingFixing potential safety hazards on airfield such as, removing foreign debris, repair or replacing light fixture on posts and wildlife controlSpecial communications with tower, ground services, military, 911 coordinator, state or local police in emergency using airfield radiosUse of computers is desired for Communications, Inspections and with using the "NOTAM" system that advised pilots of airfield conditionsThis position will include daily airport inspections of the premises to include, runway inspections, lighting inspections, ramp inspectionsWinter operations will include, snow removal from all active areas associated with the airports day to day functions. This will involve the use of loaders, heavy plows, sanding equipment and shoveling around entry doorsPerforms aircraft refueling on commercial and civilian aircraftExperienced is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate!!
Starting wage $16.00 hr
