　　BWXT Medical Ltd, is hiring an Instrumentation & Control Process Engineer for our production facility in Kanata, ON.

　　Location of Work: On-site, 447 March Road, Kanata, ON

　　Job Purpose:

　　Performs and is responsible for varied engineering, scientific or applied scientific functions in the design, development, testing, and commissioning of Company products. Is responsible for the planning, and development of work packages that support a product or project, that require a thorough knowledge of an engineering discipline. Develops solutions of problems through the use of standard and modified company procedures, or methods proven through prior experience.

　　Job Structure and Communications:

　　Reports to Development Engineering Manager.

　　Makes independent decisions and initiates actions within project parameters and guidelines; is expected to make recommendations for the solution of problems affecting the objectives of projects.

　　Accountabilities:

　　Under general technical guidance, performs the following activities as appropriate to the assigned task or project:

　　Is responsible for the performance of the necessary research, design, development or testing associated with assigned projects. This includes all required documentation, reporting and cost estimating.

　　Develops and carries out tests on personally designed or specified systems; determines practicability of designs.

　　Analyzes design and /or development with regard to the sources of supply, methods, location and cost of fabrication and testing.

　　Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of good records of all calculations, design studies, experiments, tests and estimates; these may be in the form of drawings, specifications, reports or memos.

　　Establishes and maintains the necessary interdepartmental liaison relating to projects.

　　Advises supervisor or other management of progress, costs, problems and delays with respect to individual projects.

　　Performs experiments or tests with outcomes that have a high degree of uncertainty.

　　May be required to install products in the field or assist in installation or service activities.

　　May design, build and test prototypes of high novelty equipment or processes. Also may conduct failure investigations.

　　May also perform hands-on production or development work to lead or train other staff.

　　May also act as a witness in development or production processes.

　　May represent the Company on committees, boards, panels, study groups and/or commissions - national and international.

　　Performs other related engineering or scientific duties as required.

　　Education, Knowledge & Experience Required

　　Normally University Degree in Engineering (BSc.Engineering) or in an appropriate discipline plus 5 years relevant experience. In some positions, a formal and recognized professional membership may be required.

　　Capacity to understand, interpret and explain complex technical systems or phenomena.

　　Detailed knowledge and experience in one or more pertinent disciplines, or sub-disciplines, and must have a general appreciation for, and understanding of other specialties and disciplines.

　　Must be capable of working co-operatively with others, or as part of a project team.

　　Must be resourceful, creative and reliable.

　　Must have a good knowledge of and appreciation for Company operating policies, procedures and practices.

　　Must demonstrate personal qualities of initiative, and set appropriate standards of technical performance such that the project staff is motivated to meet, or exceed project requirements

　　The base salary range for this position in [[stateProvince]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[custsalaryMin]] and $[[custsalaryMax]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
