To ensure safe and efficient operation of all equipment; performscheduled preventative maintenance as planned; perform productionequipment changeovers; troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical,and mechanical problems when needed; maintain proper records formaintenance, inventory of parts, and emergency repairs; promote goodhousekeeping habits related to maintenance; coordinate equipmenttraining as needed; and communicate ideas and other problems to themanagement staff. This is a highly skilled position that involves acombination of electrical and mechanical duties.
Safety
Follow all employer safety and health regulations as required bycompany policies, procedures and practices.Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all plant equipment tomeet or exceed company established safety culture.Follow Lock out/Block Out/ Tag out policy.Must have certified training in electrical safety procedures. Mustadhere to Electrical Safety Standards and Policies, including ArcFlash.Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.Proactive in addressing unsafe conditions and confronting unsafebehaviors in the facility.Participate and/or conduct safety training as scheduled.Daily Tasks
Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment to meet orexceed company established Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)expectations and customer quality expectations.Proactive in addressing inefficiencies of production equipment.Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical equipment includingpower and control wiring, motors, controls, electronic devices, andbuilding electrical maintenance.Troubleshoots PLC and other electronic systems. Able to troubleshootand program machine logic systems.Reads and interprets schematics, parts manuals, blueprints,sketches, hydraulic diagrams, and machine manuals.Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical andprocess problems with equipment as needed or directed by MaintenanceManager.Use power tool equipment in a safe manner to avoid injury or harm toself or other employees.Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance tasks as outlined byMaintenance Manager.Evaluate production report comments prior to performing maintenanceto ensure all causes for production inefficiencies are addressed andcorrected.Continually evaluate equipment for improvement areas. Tag componentsor parts that need repair, replacement or improvement.Perform scheduled production equipment mold changeovers as outlinedby Maintenance Manager or Production Manager.Perform building maintenance as directed by Maintenance Manager.Maintain sufficient records to support the Computerized MaintenanceManagement Software (EAM) including work orders and partsmanagement.Coordinate with Production Manager and/or Maintenance Manager as itrelates to production equipment training and employee development.Provide suggestions for training topics.Responsible for personal development by requesting regular meetingswith managers, requesting additional training, requestinginvolvement beyond immediate job responsibilities, seeking highereducation opportunities including continuing education classes andestablishing self development and performance goals with manager.Responsible for active participation on plant teams and activitiesincluding safety, quality, sustainability, community involvement,OEE, maintenance, employee wellness, brainstorming and continuousimprovement which are required to create and maintain a World Classenvir nment.Operate Powered Industrial Truck, Boom Lift and Scissor Lift perOSHA regulations rules and guidelines.Quality/GMP/Food Safety
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Responsible for reporting quality, food safety, GMP, and fooddefense issues to Maintenance Manager or a member of management.Perform required sanitation activities prior to releasing equipmentto production.Ensure equipment is clean and in 'showroom condition' aftermaintenance is performed on production equipment.Experience, Educational and Technical Qualifications
Maintenance Technician II should possess a sense of urgency,accountability, business ethics, professionalism, self-motivation andthe desire and focus to improve the business.
Maintenance Technician II must possess a High School Diploma and othertechnical certifications and training applicable to servicing industrialequipment in a manufacturing environment.
Maintenance Technician II must possess at least 5 years experience withadvanced skills in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshootingin a manufacturing environment.
