Job OverviewThis position works under the direction of the Supervisor and is directly responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Hospital buildings, facilities and equipment at the "journeyman" level in one of the building trades. Must be familiar with and reasonably proficient in the other trades. Provides direction to helpers/workers assigned to assist with cleaning and maintenance operations. Must be able to work with little or no direct supervision as employee is solely responsible for ascertaining what maintenance or repair is required, determining its priority and responding appropriately.
