As a Payroll Accountant Your Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Understand and manage Employer-Union Benefit obligations under various collective bargaining agreements.

• Conduct thorough reviews at employer’s locations, which may occasionally require travel outside the tri-state area.

• Compare payroll documentation with benefit fund reports to ensure correct contributions have been made.

• Prepare and present detailed reports in Excel format on any discrepancies found during audits.

• Utilize accounting software systems effectively for all payroll related tasks.

• Handle all aspects of 401k - RRSP Administration.

• Ensure compliance with all audit procedures and regulations.

• Oversee the process of bi-weekly payroll and reconcile payroll discrepancies.

• Manage all local payroll tax responsibilities.

• Efficiently use ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian for payroll management.

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of all accounting functions.

Requirements

The ideal Payroll Accountant candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Experience in 401k - RRSP Administration

• Excellent knowledge of Accounting Functions

• Understanding of Accrual Accounting

• Proficiency in Payroll

• Payroll Management skills

• Experience in Payroll - Union

• Ability to Process Bi-weekly Payroll

• Competence in Reconciling Payroll

• Knowledge of Benefits Payroll

• Understanding of Local Payroll Tax

• Auditing skills

• Audit skills

• Experience in Audit - Operational

• Knowledge of Audit Compliance

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now

• Knowledge of Ceridian

• Ability to use Concur
