Job Title: Maintenance Apprentice

Job Description

We are seeking a 1st shift Maintenance Apprentice to assist with facility upkeep and maintenance tasks. You will be trained and responsible for cleaning out coolant tanks, collecting condensation from cooling rooms, performing visual safety inspections on fire extinguishers, crane arms, and hoists, anchoring small equipment to the floor, helping move materials and machinery, cleaning floors and spills, sweeping, collecting rags, and addressing any facility issues such as loose items on walls or leaning shelves. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, reliable, a self-starter, able to work independently, and driven to improve the facility.

Responsibilities

Clean out coolant tanks

Collect condensation from cooling rooms

Perform visual safety inspections on fire extinguishers, crane arms, and hoists

Anchor small equipment to the floor by drilling into concrete

Help move materials and machinery

Clean floors and spills, sweep, and collect rags

Identify and fix any facility issues such as loose items on walls or leaning shelves

Essential Skills

Mechanical aptitude

Experience using mechanical hand and power tools (drills, wrenches, ratchets, screwdrivers, etc.)

Ability to climb ladders up to 15ft and not be afraid of heights

Ability to lift 30-50 pounds

Reliability and self-motivation

Ability to work independently

Additional Skills Qualifications

Willingness to join the apprenticeship program

Wearing steel-toed shoes

Work Environment

The facility is fairly clean with parts of it being better lit than others. We are currently working on upgrading the lighting system throughout the facility to LEDs. T he hours for this position are 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
