In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Assists with the plan, design, purchase, and implementation of machining processes and equipment in an industrial plant.
Assists in the determination of parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals such as setup reduction and changeovers according to product specification; works with engineering to identify problems with product and performance and recommends solutions or enhancements.
Assists with the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
Performs equipment engineering design evaluations and documents results; may recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
Works to improve equipment availability and capability by utilizing continuous improvement tools and working cross functionally.

Process Documentation - Produces written manufacturing procedures in proper sequence which are followed correctly by all approved stakeholders to establish continuity in processes and standardization.

Tool and Fixture Design - Selects work-piece-holding devices capable of effectively holding parts and products during a manufacturing process to secure their position to meet functional requirements.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field or equivalent experience required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Basic level of relevant work experience required.
The Seymour Machining Center (SMC) produces all QSK95 andHSK78 cylinder blocks for the assembly line at Seymour Engine Plant. It is the sole facility for machining the largest displacement engine block in Cummins’ product portfolio. The facility consists of four CNC machines, a production parts washer, a large CMM and several ancillary operations.
Additional Responsibilities, Qualifications & Skills
Oversight or troubleshooting for other machining processes within the SEP campus (outside of SMC).
Providing production shift vacation coverage as required
Prior experience of CNC machining and programming is required. This must include being able to operate, program and troubleshoot equipment faults/failures and the ability to write CNC programs from technical part drawings.
Must have working knowledge of Geometric Design& Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience with Siemens 840D controls, Fanuc controls, and Atlas Copco torque units is beneficial.
Ability to work in cross-functional teams with Operations, Quality, HSE, and Materials to support plant initiatives, improvements, and goals is critical for success.
Maybe required to supervise Manufacturing (Machining) Engineers, ATA's, Interns/Co-ops, School to Work students, while having direct machining support responsibilities.
Must be a self-starter, capable of leading and resolving production equipment or process issues, capable of identifying and working projects as well as assigned tasks/projects on own motivation and have a desire to learn and grow in the role.
This role is an onsite position with some flexibility at the discretion of the positions manager.
This position is a Weekend Day Shift- Working, Saturday, Sunday and Monday- hours are 4:30AM-5:00PM with a 30minute unpaid lunch
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience, range: $64,800.00-97,200.00. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
