Patient conditions include diabetes, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, wound care, and surgical cases (both pre and post operation).The LPN model follows the Licensed Practical Nursing Scope of Practice deemed by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. Under the direction of an RN, the primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing comprehensive, continuous and patient centered care which includes: on-going assessments, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant); and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations.
