  Summary This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number PDD2196000, and is part of the SC DOL, South Carolina Army National Guard. Responsibilities This position serves in the Deputy Chief of Staff Logistics (DSCLOG), G-4; of an Army National Guard (ARNG) Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) structure. May serve as the developmental position for the ARNG Food Program Manager responsible and accountable for oversight of the entire state ARNG Food Service program which includes the administration of the Food Service Budget, Awards Program, new equipment fielding's, training, Army Food ManagementInformation System (AFMIS) and inspections. Exercises knowledge and application of Department of Army (DA), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), National Guard Bureau (NGB), and state ARNG directives, policies and procedures, subsistence handling, storage, and sanitation methodology, plus food prime vendor food service ordering system, in addition to basic subsistence accounting procedures. Work involves performing or supervising staff work in planning and coordinating logistical support activities to provide the money, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed to support a specified mission at the time and place they are needed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Area 1 Only. Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard *Note- Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: Incumbent is subject to uncommon tours of duty, rotational shift assignments and overtime duty, for which compensatory time off will be granted. May be required to fly in military or commercial aircraft for TDY purposes. 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. 4. May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required. 5. The duties and responsibilities of your job may significantly impact the environment. Education Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience - Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements.
