Ballard Spahr LLP has an exciting opportunity available in our Washington DC office for a Legal Support Assistant to support our legal administrative assistants (LAAs). The selected individuals will provide support with document production, post-closing, litigation support, accounting and billing functions, new matters, client file organization, records management and closing transactions. Candidates considered will be proactive self-starters; able to work well both independently and within a team and have demonstrated experience maintaining high quality work products in a fast-paced environment. Initial candidate work schedule will be on-site 5 days a week with a future option of participating in our office hybrid schedule of 3 days on-site and 2 days remote.
Required Skills
The selected individual must possess strong administrative, time management, organizational, communication and diplomacy skills to handle tasks with keen attention to detail. Successful candidates will have the ability to exercise initiative and good judgment while working in a team atmosphere. Candidates considered will be proactive self-starters; able to work well both independently and within the Legal Support team, demonstrate flexibility in responding to daily workflow demands, and maintain confidentiality of client and firm matters.
Required Experience
A High school diploma or equivalent is required, college degree a plus and prior law firm or professional services experience preferred. Candidates should be comfortable working in a large professional environment, and have working knowledge of the firm’s computer applications, document management system, and Microsoft Office, particularly with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
