Participate in relevant departmental meetings and/or other service. Teaching may be for day, evening, or summer session courses. These positions are contingent upon student enrollment, performance, and availability of funding. Positions are appointed during the 2023-24 academic year (Fall, Spring and/or Summer): Fall Semester: August 28, 2023 - January 10, 2024 Spring Semester: January 11, 2024 - May 2, 2024 May/Summer Session: May - August 2024 We are actively recruiting for the following applied areas: Collaborative Piano (full year) Percussion (spring semester) Viola (full year) Violin (fall semester) Voice (TBD full year or one semester) Double Bass (full year) Clarinet (full year) Candidates interested in the following applied areas are also welcome to apply and the pool of candidates will be reviewed should openings occur during the 2023-2024 academic year of May/Summer Session 2024. Keyboard Contrabassoon Guitar Harpsichord and Organ As a need arises, the School will refer to the pool of qualified applicants who have submitted the appropriate application materials to be considered for openings. Job Codes and Position Titles: Teaching Specialist (9754) or Lecturer (9753), School of Music Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, performer's certificate or substantial documented professional achievement in a relevant field. Demonstrated teaching experience in a specified field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree or earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree in relevant field by date of appointment. Teaching experience at the college level in relevant area of discipline, evidence of interest and success in teaching. Performance experience with a nationally known ensemble is preferred for positions teaching individual instrumental lessons. Individuals with terminal degrees will be hired in the Lecturer job series. Teaching may be for day, evening, or summer session courses.
