Position Summary
Responsible for procurement (e.g., purchasing and supply chain activities), as well as vendor management (e.g., negotiation, purchase, and relationships associated with outsourced services). Responsibilities include:
• Accountable for obtaining goods / services required by the organization including Indirect Operations (e.g., Office Supplies, Computers, Travel, Maintenance, Machine Parts, etc.) and Direct Operations (e.g., Raw Materials and Services for Manufacturing, Production or Construction; Products for Retail, etc.)
o Product / Service Sourcing
o Supplier Selection
o Pricing / Terms Negotiation
o Order Processing
o Contract Administration
o Supplier Performance Management
• Manages or performs strategic sourcing work to manage risk and optimize the value/resilience of materials/services sourcing including:
o Establishing supplier relationship management processes and continuous improvement
goals/programs.
o Negotiating contracts and coordinating supplier integration plans with internal clients.
o Monitors market dynamics that impact materials/services availability and/or pricing.
o Partners with internal clients to identify sourcing needs, develop buyer/market profiles,
identify marketplace trends, and define acceptable service levels
Responsibilities
• Leads large projects or processes of complex scope, with limited oversight from manager
• Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level professionals
• Assists in the development of operational plan and implements for areas of assigned responsibilities
• Identifies continuous improvement/automation activities and makes frequent recommendations based on detailed analyses and applying results to drive improvements
• Adapts precedent and may holistically change standard operating procedures to develop new solutions
• Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent work experience
