Kelly Science & Clinical is hiring a Scientist II with one of our R&D clients that is pioneering the field of chromatography to work in Bellefonte, PA . The Scientist II provides technical expertise and supports interactions with internal and external scientific community to provide new technologies, ideas for new products, and improvements to existing products. The ideal candidate is expected to be proficient in LC-MS/MS method development.
1 st Shift (7A-4P OR 8A-5P)
Compensation: $70,000-$85,000
RESPONSIBILITES
Lead and perform research and evaluation of new and/or existing products, technology and processes and execute independent research plans as assigned.
Identify new product opportunities and improvements to existing products.
Perform experiments and collect data to support products within assigned area.
Develop, prototype, and test new products and/or materials utilizing current analytical methods, techniques, and instrumentation as appropriate.
Ensure that products and materials are of sufficient quality and quantity to meet production demand.
Document all steps, experiments and/or procedures in the development process as required and write experience reports detailing experimental design, results, and conclusions.
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Communicate progress on projects through monthly reports and at staff meetings.
Develop new product instruction sheets, specifications, and testing parameters as necessary and circulate for review and comment with the appropriate departments.
Provide required documentation for the NPD Stage-Gate process.
Support the transfer new products to manufacturing and monitor performance so that processes, quality, documentation, and training can be evaluated and validated.
Prepare written articles and/or generate publishable data for use by the marketing and technical service areas, and review literature used to market products.
Represent company at conferences and technical meetings, including preparing and conducting technical presentations.
Participate in continuous learning and education to keep current with industry and grow knowledge and skills in area of work.
Practice safe working procedures and follow guidelines specified by the Environmental Health and Safety Department, especially when working in production and laboratory areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associates + 10 years BS + 5 years MS + 2 years. PhD 0 years/entry level
Preferred in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Forensic Science, or similar
LC-MS/MS proficiency REQUIRED.
Candidate must be able to prepare samples, calibrate/standardize instrument, troubleshoot basic issues, read/interpret data, and have a grasp of chromatographic and mass spectroscopy theory and concept.
