POWER Engineers’ Visualization Division provides VR/AR, Rendering, and Animation services for planning, site assessment, and community engagement needs to clients. Across multiple industries, our diverse staff specializes in the areas of environmental planning, air, water, ecological, and cultural resources throughout our 45+ offices located across North America.
Disclaimer: The candidate selected for this position may work remotely full-time at a location other than a POWER-designated office/job site at the hiring manager's discretion. Boise, ID is the preferred location. Employees may travel to a POWER office for periodic meetings.
Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
We are immediately seeking a highly motivated Visualization Specialist in our growing Visualization Services Department for our Northeast, Midwest, Southern, and Southeast service areas. (Office location to be determined during interview process). This position would assist the Visualization Team in creating visuals serving the electrical infrastructure and renewable energy generation projects across the country. Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in and experience with visualizing the built environment. Highly self-motivated with a solution-oriented mindset, you are capable of producing high-quality work on budget and within established deadlines. Successful candidates should be able to model, texture, shade, light, look dev, and composite CG images or shots primarily using Unreal with a secondary focus on 3D Studio Max using VRay and report to Project leaders to solve challenges through the use of digital media to include experience color correcting images to accurately represent real-world lighting and materials.
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Visualization, or other related field.
4 to 6 years of experience working with 3D Studio Max, Vray, Unreal, and Photoshop in the development of photo-composite simulations, animations, models, graphics, and/or other communication tools and learning new solutions as necessary.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work alone or in a team and collaborative environment.
Ability and desire to interface with Marketing, Design, and Engineering for input and to ensure the accuracy of renderings.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs (Teams, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
Self-starter with strong visual and illustrative skills and attention to detail.
Ability to travel to perform field photography (drive, walk, hike) to collect data on existing visual conditions of energy infrastructure projects consistent with applicable agency guidelines and methodologies.
Knowledge and experience with editing and color-correcting photos/renderings using Photoshop. Must have good color perception and can make adjustments to renderings to match actual materials in final, large-format printer output.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Desired Education/Experience
Knowledge and interest in the creation of 3D Real-time environments using Unreal for Architecture/Engineering applications.
Ability to perform aerial imagery interpretation and understand engineering drawings and topographical maps.
Additional knowledge and experience with Autocad/Revit, Google Earth, drone flight planning and operation, digital SLR cameras, and GPS equipment is a plus.
