LAND USE PLANNER
The County of Washington is seeking applicants for the position of full-time Land Use Planner for the Planning Commission. The position is to ensure sound land development practices in the County through the technical application of planning and engineering principles, policies and regulatory mandates as defined by the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code. Candidate will conduct environmental assessments for subdivision and land development plans and report their findings to municipalities; and will provide guidance to applicants for plan submittal, including calculating review fees. Review municipal ordinances for consistency with county planning efforts. Primarily responsible for all GIS mapping and website updating for Planning Commission. Candidate will also handle duties as Recycling Coordinator for Washington County, which includes technical assistance to municipalities and residents, developing special collection events for county residents, and state reporting and grant writing duties.
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Public Administration, Landscape Architecture or a related field along with technical knowledge of planning policies and regulatory requirements as defined by the PA Municipalities Planning Code. Computer skills and GIS skills are also required; familiarity with computer coding a plus.
Salary - $47,740.50 per year
