  Job Description

  AECOM is seeking an experienced Inspector to perform construction engineering and inspections on a variety of construction projects including railroad, bridge and highway in Connecticut. Come join our team on these exciting projects!

  Responsible for performing assignments in construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.

  Relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  Responsible for setting own project deadlines.

  Provides on the job training to new employees.

  Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.

  Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.

  Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.

  Tracks quality assurance progress.

  Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.

  Qualifications

  Minimum Qualifications:

  High School Diploma and 6 years of relevant experience performing inspections on related bridge and/or roadway construction projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  Valid U.S. Driver's license.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Experience working with Connecticut Dept. of Transportation (CTDOT)

  Experience supervising / managing less experienced inspectors.

  Willingness to work flexible schedules as needed for projects, including overnight work.

  BS Civil Engineering or related curriculum.

  Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification, Engineer In Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE) license

  NICET certification (or ability to obtain required level).

  Offered rate of compensation in Connecticut will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $33.77 - $62.45.

  Additional Information

  This position has driving requirements, a company vehicle is not provided. Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM’s background check process to ensure compliance with the Company’s driving standards.
