Job Description:
The CV Invasive Specialist performs duties necessary for cardiac catheterization procedures at a technical and professional level requiring some proctoring and supervision of technical detail. The Specialist performs a variety of technical procedures that require some independent judgment. The CV Invasive Specialist assumes responsibility and initiative for designated areas and procedures as required.
Scope
Acts as a resource and provides technical support for vascular and neuro interventional modalities. Act as liaison between provider and caregivers.Participates and leads improvement initiatives and implementation of new exam procedures. Teaches new and evolving technologies. Coordinates orientation and training of new associates. Ensures staff competency through proper training techniques and conducts quality audits.Participates in problem solving to address issues relating to patient safety, care and service. Supports and promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team and interdepartmentally to facilitate that departments ability to meet its goals and objective. Collaborates with department leadership team to coordinate care with other departments and promote the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.May participate in human resource functions. May participate in the interview process and provides feedback to leadership team on candidates. Provides education/training and performance feedback for associates in the department. Participates in policy and procedure development. Presents and documents staff meetings as required.Monitors supply and equipment inventory for vascular and neuro intervention. Notifies leadership team of needed equipment repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance. Participates in leading quality and performance improvement initiatives. Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines, accreditation standards, and established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.Promotes mission, vision, and values , and abides by service behavior standards.Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsRequired
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Registered ARRT is required Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) course completion card from the American Heart Association is required
Five (5) years relevant Cardiology/Cath Lab is preferredPreferred
Associates degree is preferred
Prior experience working with students and leadership experience is preferredTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Physical Requirements:
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- and -May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
