About LAB Technician

  Our client, a reputed manufacturing company is seeking a Lab Technician to join their team. As a Lab Technician , you will be part of the Livonia team within the Automotive & Aerospace Solutions Division. The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude, strong planning and organization skills, detail oriented and have excellent communication & presentation skills which will align successfully in the organization.

  Job Title: Lab Technician

  Location: Livonia, MI.

  100% Onsite.

  Working Hours: 1st shift - 40hr weeks, M-F- 8am. - 5pm.

  What’s the Job?

  The person will be responsible for completing laboratory tasks to support core lab activities such as product testing and customer support across several business groups within the division. These laboratory tasks will be predominantly composed of testing activities.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conducting complex tests with minimal supervision. Reporting test results in a detailed manner and communicating these results to requestors.

  • Operating test equipment, including electro-mechanical test frames, analytical test equipment, and a variety of environmental chambers.

  • Operating power equipment such as band saws, drill press, and electric hand tools.

  • Organizing laboratory including maintaining laboratory inventory, scheduling of tests and equipment usage.

  • Following client's safety protocols and test methods with great attention to detail.

  What’s Needed?

  Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of Microsoft Word and Excel experience.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years laboratory, manufacturing, or testing environment experience.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills, oral & written communication. Detail oriented.

  • Mechanical aptitude - design and build simple fixtures and optimize test substrates.

  • Experience working with testing equipment and working with diverse team.

  • Ability to communicate regularly and effectively on test results and observations.

  • Familiarity with testing systems & Industry standards governing materials durability and performance.

  • Associates/Two Year Technical degree or higher from an accredited university
